Garden photos were taken in 2014 right after Roo's adoption (you can tell she had just been spayed by the shaved hair on her belly.) The pool photo and the photo below the pool, were taken about a year after she was adopted and were sent to BCRNC in an update from her owner.
This is a current photo of Roo with her favorite soccer ball.
Roo with a couple of her doggy friends.
Roo is a 9 1/2 year old spayed female. She weighs 31 pounds.
We have a very sad story -- we just heard from the family who adopted this gorgeous female back in 2014 from our rescue. Roo was a favorite in rescue when she first arrived. After she was spayed and ready for adoption, she found her new home right away. She has been loved and cared for by her owners for the past 9 years. This week her "mom" passed away from cancer.
"Roo" (she got her name because she will say "Roo-Roo" when she greets you), is a sad and confused little girl now, wondering when her "mom" will come home to her. Roo's "dad" is in his early 80's and doesn't feel he can take care of her, so we are searching for a new home for Roo. Roo will be 10 years old this summer but she is agile and active and loves to play with her toys. Her mom worked with her a lot on basic obedience commands and because they lived on a 10 acre parcel with a lot of wildlife, she was taught not to chase the critters! Roo is crate trained and will go to her crate when told. She is currently with her "dad" on the Mendocino Coast but may be moved to San Rafael to a foster provider in the next few days. The daughter in this family lives in an apartment in the city so she cannot take Roo, but she is willing to meet a new adopter somewhere between Mendocino and San Francisco if we find a good match for Roo right away.
Roo has been professionally groomed her whole life and her groomer reports she has never had any trouble with Roo. Roo was a great dog when she was in our rescue 9 years ago so I'm sure she will be able to adjust to a new family quickly. If you feel Roo would be a good dog for you, please fill out one of our applications (if you don't have one on file already) and email our rescue for more information. We have asked the family some questions about Roo so we will know more about her current personality. We want to find a great home for this little girl so she can again be happy!!!
If you are interested in Roo, please submit an application. For more information, please email bcrncinc@aol.com.
