ROLA IS A 2 YEAR OLD SPAYED FEMALE. SHE IS 18" FROM HER SHOULDERS TO THE FLOOR AND WEIGHS 28 POUNDS.
Rola is a very sweet and affectionate Border Collie who loves being around people. She is friendly with both people and other dogs, and has no reactivity issues. She is also strikingly beautiful and has a lovely presence. She responds well to basic commands and has excellent recall, even when outdoors. Rola is the kind of dog who bonds closely with her people and provides a lot of emotional connection, making her a wonderful companion for someone who spends much of their time at home.
When she was younger, Rola was more timid and anxious, with some separation anxiety and sensitivity to new environments. Over time, she has made great progress: she now sleeps through the night quietly, and is generally comfortable outdoors. She may still startle at loud noises or large vehicles, but overall she manages well. Occasionally, if left alone, she may get into things at home, though this has become far less frequent as she has matured.
Rola absolutely loves food—she’s happy to eat anything at any time! While this makes her easy to feed and train, it also means she sometimes needs supervision so she doesn’t overeat. She enjoys playing with people and other dogs, and she looks especially radiant when running in open fields. She’s not very interested in balls, but she does enjoy chew toys.
As for dislikes, Rola tends to be wary of very large vehicles (especially garbage trucks), moving objects like robot vacuums or trash cans, and she can be cautious around new people or dogs. She’s also not comfortable with dogs that play too aggressively or that won’t stop following and sniffing her—those situations can make her nervous. That said, once she feels safe, she warms up quickly and shows her naturally friendly side.
We are looking for an adopter with solid dog experience, ideally someone who is retired or works from home and can spend a lot of time with her. Rola does best when she has a steady, calm environment and close companionship throughout the day.
Rola is living in Sunnyvale.
