Max is a one year old neutered male. He is 22" from the shoulders to the ground and weighs 40 pounds.
Max is a wonderful dog. He is smart, sweet and high energy.
This dog is very intelligent and wants to work hard, true to his breed.
Max was in an abusive situation and we rescued him last month.
Up until that point he was spending much of his time on a horse ranch with a male owner.
He has been very receptive to our patient care.
He has a great temperament and is very loyal.
We have been walking him 3 times daily and he does great on a leash.
He does wonderfully with car rides and loves to tag along.
We have been working on fetch with a tennis ball and he loves it!
Max will need a home with space and a big yard for him to exercise in.
He needs space to run around and would really prefer to be outside most of the time.
For this reason we sadly cannot keep him ourselves.
He has done a great job sleeping indoors in a crate nightly without crying or barking.
He has a few unique personality traits that we are monitoring since rescuing him, but we have had no serious issues.
Mostly with the Border Collie instinct to nip, though not aggressive.
I believe him to be a great companion and very loving.
He needs an owner who understands the nature of his breed.
I have not witnessed him with cats or children.
His shots are up to date and will need to be completed again in June.
He is microchipped and registered in Solano County.
I would love for Max to live in a place where he could run, be outside and have the space he deserves.
Max is living in Napa.
