BODIE IS A 4 TO 5 YEAR OLD NEUTERED MALE. HE IS 21" FROM HIS SHOULDERS TO THE FLOOR AND WEIGHS 60 POUNDS.
Meet Bodie a Gentle Giant Border Collie Mix approximately 60lbs. He has a very calm, gentle demeanor, but will definitely bark and warn of any strange noises & events. Bodie is an excellent Watch Dog. His DNA test says he is also part German Shepherd so he is on the job for protection.
He will go out into the backyard for periods of time but ultimately signals at the door to come in. He always wants to be near me, his owner. He is very amendable to other dogs male and female and currently lives with a female Australian Shepherd. They are lovebirds.
Bodie was found as a stray in So. California and taken to a shelter, very shut down and on the euthanasia list. I took him in as a foster and ultimately adopted him. I have had him for 20 months after his rescue in 1/2024. Bodie may have experienced some abuse, he will put his head down when you to go pet him on the head that seems to be a trigger for him.
I approach him from the side reach around hug him and give him a kiss on the head.
He is more amendable to affection and very food motivated.
I am 70 single so my home is quiet, I do not know how he would be around younger kids activity, older teenagers probably but loud activity may not be conducive to his personality. I just do not know.
He has started to display some prey aggression towards my cat. That and my health issue/major surgery in the first of the year has moved me to re-home him.
Bodie is living in Campbell, CA (Santa Clara County, CA) with his owner.
